Angolan Ambassador Invites Investment in Lobito Corridor at Cape Town Forum

The Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Rui Orlando, last week invited international investors to invest in infrastructure projects in the Lobito Corridor, Benguela, to drive economic growth in Angola and the region.

This call to action was made during the 8th International Infrastructure Forum in Africa, organized by Infrastructure Africa in partnership with the African Infrastructure Association and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD).

Speaking at one of the forum’s panels at the Cape Town Convention Center, Ambassador Orlando highlighted the key transport infrastructure programs being implemented by the Angolan government, particularly the Lobito Corridor, emphasizing its benefits and opportunities for both the country and the region.

In addition to Ambassador Orlando, Arsénio Bumba, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DABG-Angola Business Group, represented Angola.

Bumba discussed the risks associated with infrastructure projects in Africa and strategies for investors to mitigate these risks.

The forum, which concluded yesterday, brought together 300 delegates from various countries and international investors keen on developing infrastructure projects across the African continent.

On the sidelines of the event, Angolan businessman Arsénio Bumba introduced the Angola Investor Market platform to potential investors.

This digital platform aims to accelerate investment attraction and diversify Angola’s national economy. Bumba described it as a support tool for investors, offering insights into the Angolan market and a comprehensive portfolio of investment opportunities available in the country.
