The Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, will lead the Angolan delegation at the 32nd edition of the Mining Indaba, scheduled for February 9–12, 2026, in Cape Town, South Africa.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas (MIREMPET), the conference will adopt the theme “Together Stronger: Progress Through Partnerships”, emphasizing innovation, sustainability, investment attraction, and the future of African mining, including essential minerals for the global energy transition.

Minister Azevedo’s delegation will include representatives from MIREMPET and its supervised institutions, such as the Geological Institute of Angola, the National Agency for Mineral Resources, Endiama-EP, Sodiam-EP, Angolan mining companies, and officials from the Angolan Embassy in South Africa.

A dedicated Angola Day is scheduled for February 10, featuring the Mining Investment Business Forum under the theme “Unveiling Angola’s Mineral Potential through Solid Partnerships.”

The forum aims to promote Angola as a strategic mining investment destination, highlighting opportunities in diamonds, gold, and critical minerals, as well as legal reforms, business prospects, and public-private partnerships.

The Mining Indaba 2026 will also include a Ministerial Symposium on February 8, bringing together African government leaders, industry stakeholders, and mining sector experts to address key challenges and foster collaboration across the continent.
