Angola Showcased Mining Potential at Mining Indaba 2025

Angola’s Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, reaffirmed the country’s strong investment potential, highlighting its geological wealth, infrastructure, and modern laboratories.

Speaking at Mining Indaba 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa, Azevedo emphasized Angola’s stability and investor-friendly mining legislation.

Azevedo stated that Angola had all the necessary conditions for investors, citing a major geological data acquisition program conducted in previous years.

He underscored the government’s efforts to attract responsible and sustainable mining investments that would benefit both the country and investors.

“We had prepared for this event well in advance, carefully selecting meetings with potential investors. Our goal was to showcase Angola’s mining opportunities, infrastructure, and regulatory framework,” he noted.

The minister reiterated Angola’s commitment to environmentally responsible mining that would benefit local communities.

He emphasized that mining projects must generate employment, empower families, and contribute to overall economic growth.

“Every time we attended international mining conferences, we emphasized the importance of inclusive, sustainable development,” Azevedo said.

Azevedo also called for stronger cooperation among African nations to maximize synergies and skills in the mining sector.

“Only by working together could we drive development across the African continent,” he concluded.

The 31st edition of Mining Indaba took place from February 3 to 6, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa.
