Angola Oil & Gas Conference Set to Spotlight Investment and Long-Term Energy Growth

Angola Oil & Gas 2026: Luanda Conference to Attract 3,000 Delegates and $70bn in Upstream Investment Focus

The Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for 9–10 September in Luanda, is expected to bring together around 3,000 participants, 150 speakers, and more than 600 companies under the theme “Investing in Angola’s Future.”

Organised by Energy Capital & Power, the event was officially launched on Tuesday evening and is positioned as a strategic platform for policymakers, operators, financiers, and service providers to shape the trajectory of Angola’s hydrocarbon sector over the next five decades.

According to the organisers, Angola’s business environment continues to benefit from multi-year licensing rounds, a permanent offer regime, and opportunities in marginal fields, ensuring consistent access to new exploration and production blocks.

They estimate that investment in upstream oil prospecting, exploration, and production could reach as much as $70 billion in the coming years.

Several major projects currently under development are expected to feature prominently at the conference. These include the New Gas Consortium, Angola’s first non-associated gas project, which commenced operations in 2025; Phase Three of the Agogo Integrated West Hub Development operated by Azule Energy, a joint venture between BP and Eni; and the Kaminho project the first large scale deepwater development in the Kwanza Basin led by TotalEnergies, with production targeted for 2028

The Lobito Refinery is another key focus of the event. Currently under construction, the refinery is scheduled to begin production in 2027 and is expected to strengthen Angola’s fuel supply security, reduce reliance on imports, and support regional fuel distribution.
