Angola hosts 15th Assembly of African Geological Services

The event aims to bring together the 44 member countries of the African Geological Survey Organization  to discuss the issue of minerals for the energy transition in Africa, to support the African Mining Vision (VMA).

According to the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, on Facebook, the program includes the intervention of the minister, Diamantino Pedro Azevedo.

On the occasion, guided tours will be carried out to the geological structures observable in the Miradouro da Lua-Cabo Ledo profile.

The Organization of African Geological Surveys (OAGS) was created on 2 February 2007 as an initiative of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) through the African Mining Partnership (AMP).

The organization’s objective is to facilitate cooperation for Geological Surveys across Africa, through the design and implementation of geoscience capacity building projects, promotion of geological maps and publications, institutional capacity building and transfer of skills and technology.
