Angolan oil production averaged 1,120,246 barrels per day (bpd) in June, which is 0.52 percent more than the official forecasts, which had projected an average of 1,114,439 bpd. These figures were disclosed on Tuesday on the National Agency for Oil, Gas, and Biofuels (ANPG) website.
In the Monthly Summary on Oil Production for June 2023, the national hydrocarbon concessionaire reports that Angola’s crude oil production totaled 33,607,388 barrels for that month. A comparison with the numbers from May, when production reached a total of 34,438,656 barrels, indicates a monthly decrease of 2.4 percent.
Regarding associated gas production in June, the document states that it amounted to 79,158 million cubic feet, equivalent to a daily average of 2,639 million cubic feet, with 1,325 million cubic feet injected, 598 million cubic feet sent to the LNG factory, 338 million cubic feet used for power generation at oil facilities, and the remaining used in oil operations and disposal.
Natural Gas
During the month of June, the LNG Factory produced 3,699,659 barrels of oil equivalent (BOE – one BOE is equivalent to the energy of 5,800 cubic meters of natural gas), with a daily average of 123,322 barrels of oil equivalent (BOEPD).
The total production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) was 98,055 BOEPD, propane 11,505 BOEPD, butane 7,946 BOEPD, and condensates 5,815 BOEPD.
During the same period, the associated gas production of the Cabinda Association was 1,157 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD), allowing the extraction of 355,240 barrels of LPG, with a daily average of 11,841 barrels for propane and 4,844 barrels for butane production.
The ANPG reports that, in June, ten drilling units were active in Angolan oil concessions, including the five drillships West Gemini, Sonangol Libongos, Valaris DS-09, Sonangol Quenguela, and Drillship (Skyros).
A total of 29 wells were worked on during this period, including 16 producing wells, two injection wells, and one exploration well.
