Alfort Petroleum expects to contribute a 10 percent contribution to the increase in Angola’s oil production, estimated at 1.2 million barrels of oil/day, a strategy adopted after the company recently won the contract for the block 8, in the onshore Cuanza Basin.
Speaking to Jornal de Angola, the director general of Alfort Petroleum, Carlos Pallete, said that the ambition of the Angolan oil company is to position itself among the major operators in the oil sector in Angola, and to actively participate in the development and growth of the national economy. .
According to Carlos Pallete, in a first phase, geophysical and geological field studies will be carried out, in block 8, of the Cuanza Basin, to determine the real oil production capacities.
According to the managing director, in block 8, Alfort Petroleum, as the main operator, holds a 50 percent stake, followed by MTI Energy (20 percent), Simples OIl (20 percent) and Monka OIl (10 percent). cent).
Carlos Pallete pointed out that the main expectation of the oil company is to contribute to the increase in oil production in the Angolan Onshore. “We are anxious to start with the geophysical and geological studies. But, before we talk about exploration and production, there is a process that must be fulfilled, because, first, we must see the area where the block is. In fact, the idea is to remove the people who live close to the area to be explored, giving them houses, as well as the construction of medical centres, schools and access roads so that they can be in a more comfortable environment”, he said.
For the director-general, Alfort Petroleum is a new company in the oil sector, in Angola, and hopes to gain its space with the current reforms underway, which are attracting several oil companies in the world.
“We are a young company and with the initiatives of bidding for oil concessions that are being promoted by the National Agency of Petroleum and Gas (ANGP), within the scope of the reforms, it is encouraging many companies to participate in several bids, with capital national and foreign companies, such as Alfort Petroleum and MTI Energy, as well as others that are participating in the blocks in the Kwanza and Congo Basins”, he said.
Carlos Pallete, with 44 years of experience in the oil sector, highlighted that Alfort Petroleum’s focus is to participate and contribute to the growth of the Angolan economy, within the framework of the Executive’s policy of economic diversification, mainly in oil production.
Alfort was founded in 2007 with the aim of providing excellent services to the oil industry. AlfortPetroleum has participated, since 2014, in the bids for oil concessions for Onshore.
