The director general of Alfort Petroleum, Carlos Pallete, said in Luanda that the implementation of local content in the oil sector is important for the valorization of the national workforce. According to the director-general, local content is essential for the growth of local companies in the oil sector.
“Local content is welcome. What we are going to do is contribute to its implementation, because we have a plan to recruit young interns at universities and train them so that in the next five years they can take control and control of companies oil companies, whether from Alfort, like any other. We also have a training program abroad and an English language training program, as it is the universal language for the oil world”, he clarified.
“The Angolan oil sector is promising”
General director Carlos Pallete indicated that the oil sector in Angola is promising and strategic in terms of economic growth.
“I have been to Angola before, and what I see is something unique. With the reforms underway, many national and foreign companies are entering tenders with a focus on exploration and discovery of new oil wells”, he said, referring that , after the Covid-19 pandemic, the movement of several oil companies to become interested in the exploration of blocks, in the “Offshore” and “Onshore” is notorious. What we see is a strong interest from oil companies and large operators they are all enthusiastically participating in this process”, he noted.
It should be remembered that the program for the bidding of oil concessions, promoted by the National Agency for Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANGP) aims to relaunch the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, reduce the decline in production, by increasing the activity of exploration and discovery of new resources.
The program aims to stimulate the local creation of small and medium-sized oil companies, promote the incorporation of qualified Angolan labor, as well as encourage technological innovation and excellent governance practices. The program also provides for increasing the geological knowledge of all sedimentary basins in Angola.
