Geraldine Tchimbali, the country manager for London-listed Pensana’s Longonjo rare earths project in Angola, has been nominated for the prestigious 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining (WIM100).
This biennial publication, released by Women in Mining UK, celebrates the accomplishments of women in the global mining industry.
“[Geraldine] has been an enthusiastic member of the exploration team, contributing to potentially significant discoveries at the Coola project, located 75 km north of Longonjo,” said Pensana Chairperson Paul Atherley.
“She has also been a passionate advocate for the project, highlighting the benefits it will bring to her community, including job creation and investment in local businesses. Geraldine regularly appears on television, engages with government officials, and hosts site visits.
“Her background in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, combined with her local knowledge and dedication to the energy transition, is an inspiration to us all. We need more leaders like Geraldine to make the world a better place,” Atherley added.
