The technical-scientific conference on Mining Workers’ Day, observed on April 27, commenced with a round table discussion focusing on the theme “History of Leadership in the Mining Sector.”
Esteemed speakers, including industry leaders like Ganga Júnior, Paulino Neto, Eugénio Bravo da Rosa, and Jacinto Rocha, shared pivotal moments from their extensive careers spanning over 40 years in the sector.
The event, attended by students and professionals, was organized under the guidance of Secretary of State for Mineral Resources, Jânio Corrêa Victor, who presented Minister Diamantino Azevedo’s message to the “Mining Family.”
The commemorative program, extending across provinces such as Luanda, Huambo, and Lunda Norte, is themed “The evolution and prospects of mining activity in Angola.”
It encompasses diverse activities, including the Gala for the Finalists of the 2nd Edition of the Catoca Journalism Prize and a workshop on the Gold Value Chain.
Established in 1985, Mining Workers’ Day honors the dedication and contributions of workers to Angola’s economic and social advancement within the mining sector.
