Sonangol pays interest on bond debt

Sonangol has commenced the payment of interest on coupon No. 1 to holders of the 2023-2028 Bonds since last week, totaling 6,544 million kwanzas for the operation, with Banco BAI acting as the paying agent.

In a statement published on its website, Sonangol reminds stakeholders that the amount available for payment is subject to withholding of Capital Investment Tax (IAC) as per applicable taxation rules.

Furthermore, in compliance with the regulations of the Central de Valores Mobiliários de Angola (CEVAMA), interest payments on deposited bonds will be facilitated through the Central de Valores Mobiliários.

Sonangol initiated the bond loan in August last year, selling 7.5 million bonds at a unit price of 10 kwanzas, securing financing of 75 billion kwanzas from 1,486 investors.

Interest payments will occur semi-annually on March 14th and September of each year, at a rate of 17.50 percent annually, for a five-year period until September 2028.
