Installation works for the ANOH Gas Processing Plant – located in OML 53 in Nigeria – reached mechanical completion on December 19, 2023, Nigerian independent oil and gas company Seplat Energy announced.
Drilling and hook-up of the upstream wells, essential third-party infrastructure, the OB3 pipeline river crossing and Spur Line has also been completed, with the third and fourth wells – ASSN-05 and ASSN-06 – completed.
The next step before plant commissioning and the start of operations is the plant’s pre-commissioning activities.
Roger Brown, Seplat Energy CEO, explained that, “Once completed, ANOH will provide two income streams for Seplat: wet gas sales from OML 53 to the gas plant and dividends from the joint venture ANOH Gas Processing Company, which will operate the plant.
ANOH’s gas will further reduce Seplat’s and Nigeria’s carbon intensity and increase energy supplied to the Nigerian domestic market.”
Developed by the ANOH Gas Processing Company – an incorporated joint venture between Seplat Energy and global energy company the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation – the project’s phase one will have a processing capacity of 300 million standard cubic feet per day, delivering dry gas, condensate and Liquefied Petroleum Gas to both domestic and international markets.
