On the 19th of this month, in Luanda, the Angolan National Diamond Trading Company (SODIAM EP) holds an electronic auction for the sale of 36 “special” diamond stones, open to registered national and foreign buyers.
The viewing sessions will take place from today the 8th to the 18th, at the headquarters of Sodiam EP, in the country’s capital, and the bidding process, which will only be done electronically, closes the 10 am on the aforementioned day 19.
The document also explains that the auction is aimed at customers registered by the National Diamond Trading Company of Angola, with “expertise” in the marketing of special stones.
The lots for sale, with 36 stones in total, include four special stones weighing over 10.80 carats from Lulo’s production; seven from Catoca, two stones from Luminas; one from Chitotolo; a stone from the Uari; one from Lunhinga; 19 special stones from Kaixepa, and a special stone from Cooperativa Moquita. In terms of measurement, it is estimated that one carat (ct) equals about 0.2 grams.

Sodiam EP is the state-owned company responsible for marketing Angola’s diamond production, founded in 1999. The productions marketed through the company originate from 12 productions, kimberlitic and alluvial, and cover the entire spectrum of qualities in terms of sizes, models , purities and colors.
