Angola and Namibia intend to strengthen cooperation in the area of mineral resources

Angola and Namibia intend to increasingly strengthen cooperation in the area of oil and mineral resources, JA Online learned this Wednesday 5th April, as part of the visit of the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, who is in Windhoek , for a visit at the invitation of his counterpart, Tom Alweendo.

According to the Angolan official, the workday allows “to see Namibia’s experience in the exploration of diamonds in the sea, in the exploration of uranium and look at its mining register” because Angola is in a phase of improvement of the mining register and thus helps to “compare them with those of other countries”, he began by saying, in declarations to which JA Online also had access today.

Diamantino Azevedo also stressed that the country wants to “look at the issue of diamonds, in terms of cutting and polishing them and see Namibia’s experience in terms of the tax regime and in all related matters so that we can improve our strategy in terms of cutting and polishing diamonds, in the comparative sense of the legislation, so that we can attract more investors”.
