Technip secures US$250 million Contract

Energy engineering and technology company TechnipFMC announced that it has secured a $250 million contract with oil and gas multinational TotalEnergies for the engineering, procurement and supply of flowlines and connectors for the Girassol Life Extension (Girlfex) project. , located in Angola offshore Block 17.

According to a document that JA had access to, the installation of flexible pipes is expected to extend the useful life of the Girassol field, bypassing the outdated rigid pipe bundles that have been in use since before production began in the field in 2001 .

Technip’s President of Subsea, Jonathan Landes, said that awards such as the Girlilfex result from the trust the company has built with its long-term customers and partners by continually giving itself to the partners themselves.

“We are delighted with the commitment TotalEnergies Angola is showing and the continued confidence in our technologies and integration capabilities,” said Jonathan Landes

Located in Block 17, approximately 210 kilometers off the coast of the capital, Luanda, Girassol covers an area of approximately 10 square kilometers and is the first deepwater project carried out in Angola’s offshore basins.

Meanwhile, maintenance work will be carried out on the Dalia field under concession, which produces around 120,000 barrels of oil per day. Production was halted for about a month as a result of scheduled maintenance activities, with production expected to resume on March 26th.
