Thirteen Angolan companies are participating from February 6 to 9, in Cape Town, South Africa, in the International Conference Mining Indaba.
This is the largest African event of investments in the mining sector, and this year will have as its theme “Unlocking the Future of Mining in Africa”.
The objectives of the participation are to transmit the Angolan experience, capture investments to leverage projects, identify and establish partnerships in the field of service provision, as well as to promote the potential and the national mining sector’s focus on sustainability and female inclusion.
The keynote speakers included the President of the National Agency of Mineral Resources, Jacinto Rocha, the National Director of Mineral Resources, Paulo Tanganha, and the Deputy General Director of the Catoca Mining Society, Paulo Mandela, who spoke on the topics of “Angola’s Mineral Potential: The Future is Here”; “Future Enabling Metals and Minerals”; and “Governance and sustainable accountability frameworks – Challenges and opportunities for greater success”, respectively.
The concept for the 2023 edition centered on the monetization of costs through joint participation, marked by the formation of a single delegation and the displays “The potential of the Angolan diamond”, which included companies from the Diamond sub-sector (ENDIAMA, SODIAM, AJ Silva, and the Mining Companies of Catoca, Chitotolo, Yetwene, Furi, Kaixepa), and “The mining potential of Angola”, which brought together other companies from various branches of the Angolan mining sector (Geosondas, Minbos Resources, Ozango Minerals Hipermaquinas and Shinning Star).
